Duval County:

All Duval County Public Schools will be closed Wednesday and Thursday. No decision has been made for Friday.

The Community Conversation hosted by Jacksonville Mayor Donna Deegan and Councilmember Tyrona Clark-Murray scheduled for Tuesday at Lane Wiley Senior Center has been postponed due to Tropical Storm Idalia. A new date will be announced shortly.

WM is suspending trash collection services Wednesday.

The University of North Florida is canceling all classes, including online classes Wednesday. UNF plans to resume normal operations on Thursday.

Jacksonville University will hold classes “in an asynchronous, online manner” Thursday. Classes are canceled Wednesday.

FSCJ classes are canceled Wednesday.

Vystar Credit Union is closing all Jacksonville branches on Wednesday. Vystar anticipates reopening Thursday.

All Jacksonville Sheriff’s Office buildings will be closed to the public Wednesday. It’s expected to re-open Thursday. The Department of Corrections is canceling in-person notary services and on-site video visitation on Wednesday and Thursday.

121 Financial Credit Union is closing all of its branches and call center Wednesday.

The Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp are postponing Wednesday’s game against the Charlotte Knights. It will be made up as a doubleheader on Friday.

All First Coast YMCA locations will be closed on Wednesday.

NAS Jax will be closed to non-essential personnel starting Tuesday at 7 p.m. through Thursday. The Visitor Control Center will remain open until 4 p.m.

The Museum of Science & History (MOSH) will be closed Wednesday, August 30, with plans to reopen Thursday, August 31.

All Nemours Children’s locations will be closed all day, Wednesday, August 30. We anticipate returning to normal operations on Thursday, August 31.

Wells Fargo branches in Baker, Clay, Duval, Flagler, Nassau, and St. Johns counties will be closed Wednesday, Aug. 30.

Clay County:

Clay County District Schools will be closed on Wednesday. Schools will reopen on Thursday.

The school district will operate three shelters that will open on Tuesday at 3 p.m.: Lake Asbury Junior High (for special needs), Orange Park High School, and Keystone Heights Junior/Senior High School. Orange Park High and Keystone Heights Junior/Senior High are pet-friendly shelters.

Clay County is opening another shelter at Wilkinson Elementary. The shelter opens at 5 p.m.

Nassau County:

An evacuation order is issued for residents of Nassau County starting on Tuesday at 8 a.m. for power-dependent special needs individuals, flood-prone structures, vulnerable structures, and mobile homes.

A shelter is open at Wildlight Elementary, 550 Curiosity Ave, Yulee, FL 32097. This shelter will accept the general population, special needs residents and is pet friendly.

Nassau County School District will be closed Wednesday of this week. This closure includes all school operations, school activities, and any other extracurricular events

WM is suspending collection services on Wednesday.

Sandbags are available from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. at the following locations:

• Yulee Road Department: 86200 Gene Lasserre Boulevard, Yulee, FL 32097

• Hillard Road Department: 37356 Pea Farm Road, Hilliard, FL 32046

County offices will remain closed Wednesday. The Nassau County Courthouse will be closed through Thursday.

St. Johns County:

St. Johns County Public Schools will be closed on Wednesday.

Castillo de San Marcos and Fort Matanzas National Monuments will be closed starting Tuesday, August 29, 2023, in anticipation of severe weather and potential impacts from Tropical Storm Idalia. While the storm track is unpredictable, based on existing information, park officials have decided to err on the side of caution and focus on visitor, volunteer, and staff safety by this preemptive closure.

Update 12:10 pm Wednesday - St. Johns County Lifting Mandatory Evacuation Order Effective Immediately, Closing Storm Shelters at 2 p.m.

Effective immediately, St. Johns County is lifting the mandatory evacuation order previously issued for all persons living in low-lying, flood-prone areas, or on a boat, mobile home, recreational vehicle, camper, or similar conveyance. St. Johns County will close its two storm shelters, the Solomon Calhoun Community Center and Health and Human Services Building, at 2 p.m.

St. Johns County Council on Aging announced all Sunshine Bus and Paratransit transportation services will be closed on Wednesday. All Paratransit transportation services will be limited to life-sustaining services on Tuesday and Thursday.

Vystar Credit Union is closing all St. Johns County branches on Wednesday. Vystar anticipates reopening on Thursday.

City of St. Augustine Beach offices will be closed on Wednesday and will resume normal operations on Thursday at 8 a.m.

There will be no pickup of yard trash/special waste in St. Augustine Beach Wednesday. Solid waste and recycling services will resume on Thursday.

The St. Johns County Pier is closed. Barricades will be in place.

Baker County:

All schools will be closed Wednesday, August 30 and Thursday, August 31, 2023. All extracurricular activities associated with the Baker County School District are cancelled beginning after school on Tuesday, August 29th until school resumes on Friday, September 1st.

The Baker County Sheriff’s office will be communicating information about shelter locations and the times of opening the shelters if needed.

All First Coast YMCA locations will be closed on Wednesday.
