Jacksonville, Fl — Expect improving weather today as a wicked nor’easter slowly ends. Action News Jax Chief Meteorologist Mike Buresh says temperatures will climb to the middle to upper 70s with sunshine. It’s still breezy but not as windy as the last few days.
But as early as tonight we’ll be tracking rain and thunderstorms as our next storm system arrives. Buresh is tracking the potential for thunderstorms in both the morning and afternoon commutes.

Low pressure in the Gulf of Mexico will send numerous showers and thunderstorms our way. The strongest storms will contain 50+ mph winds, frequent lightning, torrential rain, some hail and perhaps a tornado.
Quiet weather returns Friday. Temperatures will climb to the mid-80s and we can’t rule out an isolated shower but otherwise it’s dry.
Saturday looks dry, warm, and sunny with temperatures into the upper 80s.
We’ll close out the weekend humid and hot with temperatures nearing 90 degrees. Our next cold front will sweep through with scattered showers. Cooler temperatures return early next week.
⛈️ Strong to severe storms will be possible throughout our region on Thurs afternoon & evening
