Record heat and dry through Friday ahead of Easter weekend pattern change

Record heat today and tomorrow before Easter weekend changes

Jacksonville, Fl — We’re headed into another hot day with temperatures nearing the record of 91 degrees. Action News Jax Chief Meteorologist Mike Buresh says this would be the third 90 degree day at JAX Airport this year.

“Realize we don’t average our first 90 degree day until about April 29th to May 5th.”, Buresh said.

We stay hot on Thursday with a forecast high of 90 degrees, which would tie the 1947 record.

Friday is not as warm overall and partly sunny with temperatures in the mid-80s.

Buresh is tracking big changes for Easter weekend. Clouds move in on Saturday with afternoon and evening showers/a few thunderstorms. Temperatures will be in the upper 70s, around average.

Easter day looks windy and much cooler with mostly cloudy conditions and a few showers. Temperatures will actually fall below average into the low 70s. It’s going to feel even cooler at the beaches for sunrise church services.

The onshore flow and cooler air continues into early next week.
