Jacksonville’s Paul Davis Restoration works with two Winn Dixie locations to collect water

Jacksonville — Scott Brooks, the emergency recovery coordinator for Paul Davis Restoration, is working in tandem with Champion Beverage Distributors LLC, and Winn Dixie to distribute water to those areas impacted by Hurricane Ida.

Winn Dixie customers at 11700 San Jose Blvd and 8775 Old Kings Road South can purchase water - on sale - and give it to Brooks to load onto Champion Beverage trucks.

According to Brooks, the 55-year old company considers themselves second responders for disaster management.

“Whether it’s a loss from water, mold, storm damage or fire, we’re always trying to help,” he said. “Personally, I spent 22 years as a fireman so it’s engrained in me. I’ve always wanted to help people and Paul Davis has given me that opportunity.”

Brooks described the damage from Hurricane Ida as so severe in parts of Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama, most people may be without water for weeks. The company’s goal is to fill a 40-foot trailer that Brooks will drive to Louisiana to distribute to those impacted by the storm’s devastation.

“We have teams on the ground in Louisiana to find the hardest hit areas, " he said.

Brooks added that the Cajun Navy is also helping in distribution efforts. He encourages everyone to give to those dealing with the aftermath of Hurricane Ida.

“Paul Davis is not only a company that restores your home, we try to restore your heart,” he concluded. “And we try to restore your life. It’s what we do every day.”
